This is part of the Regnum Universale open universe. The weird fiction of William H. Hodgson partially inspired H. P. Lovecraft into creating the genre of cosmic horror and Cthulhu mythos. Hodgson's writing is now in the Public Domain, allowing creative minds to use existing characters and settings in their own projects, or even to adapt and expand on the original lore. Most interesting for me were the settings found in The Night Lands and The House On The Borderland, for their creatures and weird universe themes, but I also found inspiration in Hodgson's ghost stories and nautical tales. Note that many of Hodgson's stories have themes of horror and violence, and while the artwork in the PDF is relatively tame, but weird, some images in the zipped art pack are definitely creepy. The artwork comes from Wombo AI, and the rest of the doc is my personal research.

What's included:

* An honest review of several of Hodgson's novels and short stories, first published between 1907 and 1913. Non-stop spoilers!

* A breakdown of plots and threats, including lists of events and items.

* Suggestions on adapting the stories for writing fiction, playing  TTRPG adventures or other creative projects with similar themes. The stories were written in the Gilded / Victorian age, but with a little tinkering can be adapted to other action genres. The ghost stories, for example, must have influenced Scooby Doo-type mysteries.

* Lists and tables you can choose or roll from, to add new spice to your tale.

* A zip file with 20 creepy art images.

This document contains 32 pages. Be sure to follow me if you'd like more content like this, that you can use and adapt into your own great stories.
